Written Test for DMV (Driving)

Postby T on Thu May 15, 2008 10:46 pm

Not exactly academic. But I was wondering what is the best way to study for this.

People say it's common sense but at the same time, I notice even the smartest people fail their first time.

So far I've got:
- Writing test questions and answer word for word
- Reading the manual

Any other ideas? And insight as to whether or not this test is actually hard at all?

The best thing you can do is to collect actual tests from people who has already taken it and test yourself with those. It worked a lot.

I agree with Alex. I passed it the first time I took it and all I did was read over tests that people took.

I actually read the entire handbook back to back and highlighted almost everything, but that's because it makes me read the text twice or three times. I didn't study off of tests.

Written test is easy. The hard part was the driving test. I didn't know that they grade based on safety. I thought they grade on how well you drive. I drove extremely well, but failed on safety checks.

Hey guys. For those that studied off of different tests, about how many different tests did you study? And as far as old tests goes, would you guys say it's safe to study them? (From year 2000)

I'm going to create 3 online practice quizzes. It helps me study while making the quiz. And I'm doing this to help my friends study.

Thanks for the tips everyone.

To those that haven't done the written test, here are some tests I've made. They're based on real tests so it should be helpful.

Quiz 1
Quiz 2
Quiz 3
Quiz 4
