Sticking Together

You know how Khmer parents expect their family to stay together? As in them not kicking their kids out?

Well I was wondering if the same expectations still apply if a Khmer parent's kid gets married.

My dad says he gets sad when his kids leave. Is how he feels generally the same as any other Khmer parent?

Its the same for ALL parents in general. They've raised them for 19+ years so if they leave, its like losing a part of themselves.

My father is the most clingy. If it wasn't for him, I would have went out of state or go to school in Norcal. He even admits that he has problems letting go.

Well I haven't heard about white people really kicking their kids out anymore. At least for them, it must be how expensive it is to live, as a reason for not kicking their kids out.

When I think about it, it's funny how it used to be very loser-like, for an adult to still live at home with their parents. Nowadays its common and not really looked down upon.
