Give it a Break Already

Even though California voted NO on this proposition twice and in a row, people keep trying to push it on the ballot yet again.

I'm talking about the proposition dealing with parental notification on abortion. Now regardless of how anyone feels about the subject, I think an initiative/proposition should be left alone until after five years at least. It's a waste of time and probably people's tax money to keep asking for a vote on the same topic ballot after ballot.

Thoughts on repetitive propositions?

The problem with Propositions is that its the citizens who take the initiative to put this on the ballot. The government cannot do anything about propositions as CA gov't is a direct democracy and citizens can directly influence CA law.

So if the citizens want to put this on the ballot, and have the money to put it on the ballot, they can.

I hate this proposition too, but unless CA legislature amends the CA constitution, nothing can be done with these stupid, repetitive propositions.

You know, I'm going to write an e-mail to the Planned Parenthood people and ask them about this. Maybe with their influence, they can get people to raise money for an initiative to put an end to Repeat Propositions. Sure they'll likely focus on abortion first but it's a start to end repeat propositions.

Good luck with that. I'm sure you'll get a response, but I don't think the repeated propositions issue isn't on the top of their priority list.

Oh well, its worth a shot, right?
