Where Do You Go For Anime

Anyway, where do you go for anime? Or manga?

Well since I'm lazy and stick to buying actual DVDs and manga, I don't think my sources are all that great.

Manga:
http://www.onemanga.com
^ No registration. Just read manga for free on site. Has U.S licensed manga if the company hasn't yelled at them to take it off yet.

http://www.mangahut.com
^ Same thing as One Manga.

Anime:
http://www.saiyanisland.com
^ When I can't find Naruto or Bleach on streaming sites, I download the actual thing here.

http://www.crunchyroll.com
^ An Asian youtube. With Asian Dramas, Anime, and Asian music videos.

Alluc.org
^ Site links to other people who uploaded anime, TV shows, and American cartoons.

Well, most of these sites are the same so if I list anymore it might get redundant. But yes, those are where I go.

I basically get all of my anime direct downloads from:

http://www.bleachexile.com

For streaming anime, I go to:

http://www.veoh.com

Crunchyroll's videos are too small and I have to squint to see.

For other anime, I just go to the appropriate fansubbing group website and download the torrent.

The only manga I read is Bleach.

So what are your favorite animes and mangas?

Anime:
    FLCL
    Bleach
    Death Note
    Ninja Scroll
    Azumanga Daioh
    Tsubasa Chronicle
    Fruits Basket
    Cardcaptor Sakura

I'm currently watching:
    Bleach
    Genshiken
    Bamboo Blade
Super Saiyan Phelps!

The anime/manga I'm really into:

Gungrave, Berserk, Hellsing, Trigun, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Trinity Blood (damn cliffhanger ending), Claymore, Fushigi Yugi, Monster, MPD Psycho, InuYasha manga to some extent, Naruto, Gankutsuou, etc.

I'm more into the action oriented things. Some of the things I watch seem like mindless violence but the plot and characters are actually deep. Often revolving around loyalty or a rise and fall archetype.

Currently watching/Reading:

InuYasha Manga: This used to be one of my favorite series until it got extremely repetitive and ended the way it did. Luckily continuing it in the manga redeemed it a little. Thankfully there's a lot less filler chapters in the manga. It still seems dragged on with Naraku always escaping and there are plenty recurring themes. Though hopefully the series ends soon. If Naraku runs away in the current chapter I'm on, I'll give up on InuYasha. Too dragged on.

I should be watching Death Note on DVD and reading Berserk. Too bad they're not in stores yet.

I'll also look into the Devil May Cry anime. My common sense says to avoid it but I'm curious.

I'm looking for an anime that really makes you think and question your own morals and beliefs.

Death Note really did that for me and I don't think I can find an anime that can top that. Any suggestions?

I don't know why I'm still watching Bleach though. The Soul Society Rescue arc was the best story arc in Bleach, but after that the story has gone downhill...

I am also avoiding Devil May Cry, but it looks tempting...

I don't think anything tops Death Note in being thought-provoking. I haven't seen enough anime to be in the same class as Death Note in getting you to think and since I'm procrastinating on my essay, I can only quote others quickly:

4 quick titles off the top of my head.....

Paranoia Agent
GITSSAC 1st and 2nd Gig
Serial Experiments Lain
BoogiePop Phantom

Each of these titles provides psycological intrigue on the highest of levels...Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex (GITSSAC) and Serial Experiments Lain are two series that are in my top 10 animes of all time....Paranoia Agent will mind-rape you, while BoogiePop Phantom is a true psycological thriller...So do a little research then enjoy these great titles...

Kousetsu Hayaku Monogatari: At a first glance the series, episodic in nature, appears to be about ghosts and ghouls but then you realize, the content of those stories do not revolve around the supernatural. They are the portrayal of a few psychologically disturbed individuals whose horrible acts only reflect human nature too well.

Blue Gender
This one is entertaining and action filed while still examining things like what is "human" and at the same time presenting a pretty strong message on ecology.

And just to tempt you to possible dissapointment:

Grr... You HAD to put that picture of Dante...
MUST.....NOT.........DOWNLOAD!!!!!!!!

Well, I'll do a little research on those and see which one I'm interested in. Hoan loved Death Note and I'm trying to find an anime that is psychologically intriguing since she is a psychology major and enjoys anime too.

I usually go for online streaming rather than downloads. My personal computer has been locked away in the garage so I can't just download whatever I want. I use http://www.veoh.com, http://www.crunchyroll.com, http://www.narutochaos.com, and some other sites.

For manga scanlations I usually go:
http://www.vnmanga.com [they have licnesed manga]
http://www.manganews.net [find what manga you want and where to download it!]
And a whooooole bunch more sites. There are just simple too many to list. Ask me if you have trouble finding a manga kuz I always manage to find it.

Oh and I hate how all the anime/manga I was into in the old days have gone mainstream. Back then no one knew about HunterxHunter, Peacemakers, and +Anima and all those other ones :[

I don't know about your reasons but I'm usually afraid to admit I like anime in person because anime in general has become so mainstream. As a result more dummies are able to find it.

People usually stereotype all anime fans as a Wapanase, a Japanophile, or annoying obesed person that smells bad...

Damn those other fans for ruining the experience and making normal fans look bad.

What are your reasons for disliking the mainstreamness?

My reasons are similar to yours. I see people who are obessed with a few anime going around cosplaying 24/7 (no lie, there were people like this at Poly!) and if you say even ONE thing that contradicts their way of thinking about the anime, they go all off on you and it's like, calm the EFF down! I love anime just as much as you do but you don't gotta get all mad and stuff if you find out other people hate it. Plus, they act like they know everything there is to know about anime. I won't lie, I was in the anime club at Poly and I've been into anime since I was like four. These people got into it once they were like what, 10? I talk to them about anime and I'm not bragging, but I know a bit more about anime than they do but they always try to prove to me that they're so much more knowledgeable and it bugs me. They only know about the mainstream anime. I'm not trying to make myself look better than them. I love anime but I'm not crazy like them -__- and I'm not into anime just because it's become more popular. The less known anime are usually better than the mainstream shiz I've seen so far anyways.

SO many act so stupid and it makes the rest of us fans look bad. It makes me almost not want to say I'm a fan of anime.
